PPOCC Meet the Vendor
Despite my serious lack of public speaking ability, our evening with the PPOCC was a great time. In one night we were able to see old friends and clients and meet new people the we hope will become customers. The meeting was held at the Hyannis Golf Club and there was an excellent turnout to meet all the vendors that were invited.
Thanks for inviting us to your association, we look forward to attending next year and also any other functions that you have this year.
High End Digital Picture Frames
J Whitney is excited about our new product offering. High End Digital Picture Frames, not the kind that anyone can get at the Big Box Stores, these top of the line units are custom made and come in Standard and Widescreen Formats.
These units come to us from our vendor and then we create a custom made frame that you choose. Double Mats are standard on our Digital Photo Frames and each piece as always comes ready to hang on the wall. The units will sell for approximately $1000 - $2000 each and you can expect to mark them up 10% - 20%. Using this technology, you can load up a USB flash drive with your slide show and instead of a DVD for your client’s Television, you have a Digital Slide Show running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in your client’s home or office… can you think of a better form of advertising than that?
We will be receiving our Demo Unit very soon, so contact us to make arrangements to take a look. Here are some images of the units.

The Framed Slide Show
A New Way to Display Your Images
We were given the opportunity to play last month and we designed a great new product!
We are calling it the “Framed Slide Show” and it allows you to frame a collage of images in a great new way. Take a look at this sample we made for our friend and client Walter van Dusen.
Call us if you want to create one for your studio.

This is the full image.

Each image is floated above the matting, we created different levels for the images to give the piece some motion.

The center image was brought forward so it “Popped”.

Each image is mounted onto Foamcore and back beveled to hide the edges.
We can create any layout and use almost any of our custom frames, contact us now to get instructions on how to setup your images.
This order used acid free black matting c9599 as the top and bottom mat and a Larson Juhl Soho frame #433082. This piece costs $400.00 to create, but you can make it any size and shape to fit your style!
Mystic 3 A Success!
Peggy and I went over to Mystic 3, A Day of Networking and Learning. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Mystic 3, it is a day of seminars for wedding photographers to get together and learn and discuss the industry with each other. Since it’s inception a few years ago, it has grown to a nice size. There were approximately 110-120 people who attended the event and the speakers presented some very interesting topics and learning workshops.
We had a great day meeting a whole group of photographers that we had never met previously so we are very excited. Peg and I introduced an new product that I think many of you will enjoy. I will get some photos of it later and post them for everyone to see.
If you are interested in learning about Mystic 3, drop me a line and I will fill you in!
Thanks,
Joel

Survey Response - Help with Selling and Pricing
Can we help you with the sales process and get pricing created for your clients?
We sure can and we sure will. Give us a call and we would be more than happy to have you to our warehouse or we can come to you to work one on one or with a group. The only way that we are going to make money is if you make money. We can take a day and give you some help creating products and finding new ways to market your business. You can call us for a phone chat and pick our brains; I had a client do that today and within 20 minutes she had 3 ideas to move on and came away from the call with motivation and excitement.
If you need help with pricing, go no farther, tell us what kind of price point you are looking to meet and how you want it implemented and we can create price lists that have your “retail” pricing. We even have some skills with computers and can help you as best as possible with technical issues or at least point you in the right direction to someone who can help you.
Survey Response - Studio Signature Frame
Can we match a frame that a client saw online to create a “Studio Signature Frame”?
100% Yes!
We have always supported the idea of a “Studio Signature Style”. Many of our clients have a Signature Style that they use on 85-90% of their framed work and this has proven beneficial to their business. Creating a Signature Style makes the process of selling frames easy and profitable. Clients that have a Signature Style Frames have gravitated towards a policy of 100% framing, meaning that nothing leaves their studio unframed.
With our new Semi-Custom Frame program, we are able to custom create a package that can fit your studio’s requirements. We have the ability to find a frame style or series of styles that can include linen liners, matting or just plain frame only. Purchasing in “bulk” quantity will allow you to bring the cost per frame down to a very inexpensive price point and you can be assured that your work will be completed as always with the J Whitney Frame guarantee.
Survey Response - Low Cost, High End Wedding Frames
We recently sent out a survey to our clients. We asked how we could help this year and we got some great answers. We want to share the answers that we received and give you some feedback.
Low Cost, High End, Wedding Frames was a great suggestion.
With the introduction of our new Semi-Custom line of frames, we think that this question can be answered very easily. Our new line of Semi-Custom Frames are all high end 100% wood mouldings manufactured by Larson Juhl. We have negotiated a great deal on this line of moulding from Larson Juhl and coupled it with a new way of purchasing, storing and labor saving work flow to bring a significant cost savings to you.
By purchasing in quantity, you will see discounts on this product ranging from 35-45% off the single piece price. While purchasing in quantity in the past might have been a negative factor, we have created a new system we call Store & Fit to address this issue. When you purchase a “bulk” quantity of frames in this new product line, we make all of your frames at once, then Store them in our warehouse so that they remain protected and ready for your images. When you have an image that needs to be framed, you send it to us and we Fit them in you waiting stock and we deliver or ship them to you within a week.
We have had great success with this new line and our clients have had greater success, as they are able to make an increased profit off of the frames they are selling. We have clients that are making 200% profit off of each frame sale because of the way they are purchasing.
Take a look at the new catalog and contact us ASAP so that we can get you started on making more profits this year, without having to spend a lot of money.
